Jordy Ortiz was born into a small household in Santiago De Los Caballeros of the Dominican Republic. When he was nine years old, he and his family relocated to the Bronx where he would teach himself English. While still in high school, he began working contracting jobs to help support his family. Later on, when he became a US citizen, it was a huge accomplishment for him and his family as it cemented a new chapter for them in the States. Jordy was then discovered in the streets of New York one evening while walking home with a friend. He made his debut walking for the house of Alexander Wang and its Collection 1 show in New York. He has graced the pages of 10 Men, Dust Magazine, Hercules Universal, CR Men, GQ Russia, and V Man, and has walked additional top shows: Moschino, R13, and Sies Marjan. Jordy’s ambition is to one day start his own business, to open a cafe in the city while giving back to his family and community.
